Who We Are
The United Way of Mid & South Jefferson County works to better the lives of our neighbors. With our Community partners, we fight poverty and food insecurities, invest in education, and work to improve health in our community.
What We Do
The United Way of Mid & South Jefferson County works to provide vital services when needed. We do this through our local United Way Initiatives:
- Community Investment Grants - supporting local programs that address community needs. Because of United Way's support more than 40 programs are offered in our local community.
- Our unique United Way MSJC Programs include:
- Early Literacy Programs: Book Vending Machines, (Virtual) Story Time with United Way, and Summer Reading Palooza
- West Port Arthur Community Garden - addressing food insecurities with produce and education
- Day of Caring - turnkey volunteer planning for community & business
- First Impressions - workforce readiness clothing closet to take job seekers from the interview to the work site
- United We Work - a workforce readiness & financial stability program
- Born Learning Trails - active play areas for mind & bodies to support early child development
- SETXvolunteers.org - a virtual volunteers center to support community impact
