Museum of the Gulf Coast

Who We Are

It is the purpose of the Museum of the Gulf Coast as mandated by the Port Arthur Historical Society to “collect, preserve, display and interpret the heritage of southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana" - that regional area defined as being bordered by Houston at its western boundary and New Orleans at its eastern boundary.

What We Do

Our main goal at the Museum of the Gulf Coast is tell the story of the Gulf Coast. We achieve this by giving guided tours of the museum to all school groups free of charge, hosting free community outreach events, expanding our outreach into local classrooms with our Discovery Trunk program, and many other ways.
