Volunteers provide food, assist with shelter.  Volunteers offer comfort and assist with helping families affected by major disasters such as fire.

Volunteers serve as Ombudsman in area nursing homes and assisted living facilities. **Background check and 36 hours of training required.

Volunteers assist in Day Surgery, Patient Escort, Giftshop, ICU Surgery Desk, Pharmacy Assistant, and Popcorn/Candy Cart. Volunteers MUST sign-up with Golden Triangle RSVP and Baptist Hospital of SETX. 

Volunteers will make daily phone calls to homebound elderly to check on their welfare. **Background check is required.

Tutors and ROAR (Reach Out and Read Program) in area elementary schools. **Background check required. Volunteers must register online with BISD.

Tutoring adults in ESL (English as a Second Language) and High School Equivalency that will lead them into economic growth.

Teach Educational Land Activities to students in regards to the Neches vast and diverse ecosystems. Volunteers will be trained on the activities of their choosing (Ex. Nature Exploration-Walk, Nature Games: Food Chain - Food Web, Watershed – Pollution, Trash & Treasures). Most school trips are in April and May between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm. Assistant may select volunteer days from NRIB schedule which will include: date, timeframe, number of student groups, student grade level, and number of volunteers for land activities.

Assist with shelving and processing books and fundraising.

VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance). Volunteers prepare tax returns for low to moderate individuals and families.  Food preparation and food service at the Hospitality Center, soup kitchen in Port Arthur, Market to Hope, serve as market assistant.  Volunteers also serve as Group Facilitator for Elijah’s Place.

Volunteers assist with patient escort, in giftshop, information desk, and surgery waiting room. Volunteers must register with Golden Triangle RSVP and Christus Hospital- St. Elizabeth. **Background check required.

Assist new mothers with taking care of their new- born baby by giving out information on Shaken Baby Syndrome, SIDS, Safe Sleep and Post-Partum Depression. **Criminal history and CPS background check required.

Plant, weed, water and harvest plants at local community garden which supports area soup kitchens

Volunteers assist with packing and food distribution to clients, stocking shelves and office help.

Volunteers are needed to assist with assembly of bags of food on Mondays before second Tuesday and 2nd & 3rd Tuesday with food distribution to clients.

Putting out milk, juice, cereal, signing clients in at day center for the homeless.  Assist at registration and hygiene desk.

Volunteers are needed to assemble packets, help at community events and assist public with ISTAT (Individual State of Texas Assessment Tool)

Assist with food distribution, help in the clothing store and interview clients for assistance with rent and utilities.

Distribute health related materials to nursing home and assisted living residents that will enable them to make better decisions about their healthcare. These volunteers are members of the choir at the Center.

Volunteers help prepare & serve a hot cooked meal for homeless residents in our community, deliver meals to our local citizens who are homebound elderly or disabled; serve in food pantry and clothing area and interview clients.

Volunteers are needed to serve in respite capacity, going into patient’s homes and giving the caregiver a needed break. Patients are located in Jefferson and Orange Counties. **Training and background check provided by Southeast Texas Hospice, TB skin test is also required. 

Clerical duties when needed in the Administrative Office

Serving at area funerals of veterans by participating in honor detail.

Delivering meals on wheels to our local citizens who are homebound elderly or disabled; assist in food pantry, clothing mission and interview clients.

Provide snacks for veterans, provide vital medications for veterans in the pharmacy and help transport veterans to urgent doctor appointments in Houston.  Volunteers are needed to make phone calls to patients regarding next day appointments.  “Red Coat” Ambassadors are needed to greet at the Clinic to those entering the building.
